What Really Happened Between Mthimbani, Mapele, Cool B and Artists?

Hip hop artist Mthimbani took to social media to recount a distressing incident involving several fellow Xitsonga artists on December 15, 2023.

The altercation reportedly occurred after a gig in Tzaneen, where Mthimbani and Price Tag found themselves confronted by Mapele, Cool B, Snake, and their entourage.

According to Mthimbani’s account, tensions escalated quickly as verbal exchanges turned threatening. Cool B allegedly blocked their path, brandishing a firearm and menacingly counting bullets, targeting Price Tag over unresolved issues.

Mapele and his security team intervened, coercing Price Tag to plead for forgiveness while recording the incident.

In a shocking turn, Mapele directed aggression towards Mthimbani, physically assaulting him, leaving him injured and bleeding.

“Mapele comes to me and kick me in the mouth I was blooding so bad, he continues to insult me and press with his words with a gun on his hip, they over powered us with bouncers and guns,” said Mthimbani.

This disturbing incident within the Xitsonga music community has sparked concern and raised questions about conflict resolution.

Mapele claimed that Mthimbani made up the story to get attention for his upcoming album, saying Mthimbani only put tomato sauce on his face to make it look like blood.

The boss asked if there was any evidence to prove he assaulted Mthimbani, ” does he have a proof that I assulted him?”.

Cool B, said he don’t want to be involved in Mthimbani and Mepele’s fight, mentioning that the two know the reasons behind their conflict.
