The Thohoyandou police have arrested a 26-year-old man for a house robbery that took place in Ngovhela early on Monday, 17 June 2024. The suspect broke into the complainant’s home by chopping the door open with an axe.
Limpopo spokespersons colonel Ledwaba Malesela stated that, “The Suspect attacked the victim and robbed him of a cellphone and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene.”
“The victim was rescued by a neighbor, and the incident was promptly reported to the police, who opened a case of house robbery.” Said Colonel Ledwaba Malesela.
Thorough investigations led to the suspect’s arrest. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the arresting team for their quick response and determination.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court soon.
Police investigations are ongoing, and more charges may be added.
