The woman responsible for a handbag theft at Shoprite Masingita Mall in Giyani just a week ago has been located and identified. The alleged thief, Tinyiko Mathebula from Ka-Madonsi [New Stands], has left the community in shock with her actions.
Giyani View newspaper confirmed that Tinyiko Mathebula has indeed returned the stolen handbag, which contained not only car keys but also several other valuable items.
However, one crucial item was conspicuously absent: the money that was originally inside the handbag.
Tinyiko’s attempt to make amends took an unexpected twist. Instead of returning the money along with the rest of the stolen items, she chose a different path.
Fearful of the looming specter of arrest, Tinyiko sought the assistance of a male friend to return the handbag on her behalf.
Initially, Tinyiko vehemently denied any knowledge of the missing money. Her reluctance to come clean left many puzzled, but the situation took a significant turn when the local authorities intervened.
After facing pressure from the police, Tinyiko finally admitted to her involvement in the theft of the money.
While Tinyiko Mathebula has made a step towards redemption by returning the stolen handbag and confessing to her actions, the unresolved issue of the missing money still lingers.
