The murder trial of the Radzuma siblings, accused of killing two South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) leaders in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, has faced further delays.
The trial, involving Percy, Simon, and Ndivhuwo Radzuma, was postponed on Monday, forcing prosecutor Nyambeni Nekhambele to rearrange witnesses. Nekhambele explained, “The challenge is that I have got witnesses from Pretoria who are coming tomorrow”
Nekhambele also stated that, “I have got a witness for today, which means I have to reschedule. I will have to make arrangements as the court pleases.”
Meanwhile, Percy Radzuma’s lawyer, Ntsako Hlungwane, plans to apply for bail due to the extended custody of the accused. Hlungwane expressed concern, saying, “I’m also equally concerned about the overstay of the accused persons in custody,
“As a result of this, my lord, I will also make other arrangements or consultations because the court may agree with me that the matter has been postponed many times ago, my lord, and if today we shall not do anything, it is equally painful for me as well as the legal representative of the accused persons.”
The trial is set to continue, with key state witnesses expected to give evidence.
