Mathonsi Media Express journalist Titos Makondo expresses his opinion in an on-going unrest in South Africa and he says, a book is just a book, but a R30 packet of fish is a fry.
All grocery and furniture shops at Jabulani mall near Johannesburg were looted except for the book shops.
This clearly point out that majority of South African citizens do not see any value in books.
South African citizens versus Books are just oil and water. People don’t realise that a book is a basic need, it can change man’s life.
“If you want to hide something from a negro put it in a book,” so saying the former African-American Muslim minister Malcolm X.
However, Reading is a great vitality Mathonsi Media Express encourages the audience to read a lot because reading is a cognitive exercise, a nutritient to the mind.
“Education is the only weapon to use to eradicate poverty in our societies” former South Africa president Nelson Mandela once said.
