In the world of South African music, competition is fierce, and artists are constantly vying for the top spot on various platforms. Recently, two talented Xitsonga musicians, Mr Post and Joe Shirimani, released their albums, which quickly climbed the iTunes charts.
Despite being competitors, Mr Post expressed his gratitude towards Prince Rhangani for not engaging in any beef or diss tracks in Joe Shirimani’s project, “thank you svara for not being part of this beef, me and you we are cool, we are not fighting,”.
Let’s delve into the details of their album releases and their current standings on the iTunes platform.
Both Mr Post and Joe Shirimani dropped their albums earlier this month, captivating their fans with their unique musical styles. The albums received an overwhelming response, dominating the iTunes charts and captivating listeners across the country.
For the past four days, Mr Post has secured positions two and three on the iTunes charts, showcasing his popularity and the immense support from his fans. Meanwhile, Joe Shirimani initially held the second and third position upon the release of his album on 3 December day after Mr Post’s album.
However, he swiftly climbed to the top spot, dethroning Zulu Artist Khuzani, and remained in the number one position for nearly two days.
As of today 06 December, Joe Shirimani has slipped to the second position on the iTunes charts behind Popular Amapiona artist Kabza De Small, while Mr Post has unfortunately fallen out of the top 100. This shift in rankings highlights the dynamic nature of the music industry and the constant battle for supremacy.
Mr Post on Saturday during his live on Facebook he said, “Someone will go live while craying you will see,” he was a subtle reference to Joe Shirimani’s emotional moment after Shirimani had previously been seen crying on his Facebook Live sessions after the tragic loss of his siblings, Khombo Shirimani and KK Shirimani.
The South African music scene is filled with talented artists who constantly strive to create exceptional music and dominate the charts. Mr Post and Joe Shirimani have recently released albums that have captivated audiences and dominated the iTunes platform.
