In a shocking incident that unfolded in Tsakane village, a man identified as Trust Nyathi reportedly set fire to his former girlfriend’s house, escalating his frustrations after being recently dumped.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of August 26th, saw Nyathi allegedly ignite the double garage along with a parked car inside.
The targeted woman, a resident of Powerline village in Acornhoek, had decided to end the relationship with Nyathi just a few days prior.
However, it appears that the breakup did not sit well with Nyathi, as he allegedly resorted to threats against both the woman and her family after the separation.
Tragically, the torched vehicle that was reduced to ashes in the garage did not belong to the woman. It is believed that Nyathi’s actions were fueled by his inability to cope with the breakup, leading him down a dangerous and destructive path.
The aftermath of the incident has left the woman and her family living in a state of fear and anxiety.
According to reports, Nyathi warned them that the arson was merely the beginning, indicating his intent to continue unsettling their lives until his demand for reconciliation was met.
Local law enforcement swiftly responded to the incident, and a criminal case has been initiated against Nyathi.
The Acornhoek police are actively investigating the matter, aiming to ensure justice is served and that the safety of the woman and her family is upheld.
