The Limpopo House of Traditional Leaders has called on municipalities to provide adequate water and access roads to initiation schools this season.Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for noncompliance, the House highlighted the loss of three lives last year as unacceptable and stressed the aim of having zero deaths this year.
According to Capricorn News, Hosi Ngove stated that initiates must be given sufficient water, food, and healthcare. “We are dealing with human beings, not objects,” Ngove said, urging a collective effort to safeguard the lives of the initiates.
MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA), Basikopo Makamu, emphasized the importance of compliance.
He urged permit holders to avoid registering underage children and to operate the schools with dignity to ensure the safety of all participants.
