Limpopo Premier, Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, has asked parents not to give their children too many household chores while they prepare for final exams.
Together with Education MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, they started the Matric Countdown at SJ Van Der Merwe Technical High School in Lebowakgomo.
Their goal is for the province to reach an 80% pass rate this year.
Over 94,000 full-time students in 1,287 centers across Limpopo will begin their exams on October 21, 2024.
Dr. Ramathuba also encouraged parents to create a good study environment at home and allow their children to join study groups.
She urged liquor outlets and churches to keep noise levels down, so students can focus on studying.
