Limpopo Health MEC, Dieketseng Mashego, has encouraged patients to report any mistreatment or poor services they experience at public health facilities.
During a surprise visit to the Rethabile Health Centre in Polokwane on Wednesday, she spoke to patients to check on the quality of service being provided.
Mashego stressed the importance of mutual respect between patients and healthcare workers. She urged patients not to leave healthcare facilities without getting assistance or voicing their concerns if they are unhappy with the treatment they receive.
“We don’t want patients to go home without being helped, and without speaking up about their dissatisfaction,” Mashego said.
IHer visit is part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery in Limpopo’s public healthcare system.
