The Democratic Alliance (DA) has suspended newly sworn-in Member of Parliament, Renaldo Gouws, following the circulation of a shocking video. In the video, Gouws is seen and heard using highly offensive racial slurs, including the “k” and the “n” words, and calls for violence against black people.
The DA confirmed the video’s authenticity and expressed strong condemnation of Gouws’s statements. The DA stated that, ” The DA has established that the video, in which Renaldo Gouws, uses execrable language is in genuine not a fake as initially suspected.”
Gouws’s suspension is immediate, and the DA has launched an internal investigation to determine further actions. This incident has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation from both political leaders and the public.
Renaldo Gouws, who recently took his oath as an MP, has not yet issued a public statement regarding the video.
