Collen Malatji, the President of the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL), has sent a strong message to President Cyril Ramaphosa, saying he is prepared to take over the Union Buildings if urgent economic changes are not made.
During a march from Luthuli House to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in Sandton, Malatji spoke out for immediate reforms.
He wants the economy to better serve the country’s majority, especially young people who are struggling to find jobs.
Malatji even stated that he is ready to make himself president if these demands aren’t met.
He stressed the importance of creating an economy that includes and empowers young South Africans. Malatji believes that if no action is taken, the youth will rise and demand change.
